User guide
How to use T-Mail temp mail: complete guide
Everything you need to create, use and reopen your temporary inbox, step by step.
1. Get your temporary email address
As soon as you open T-Mail, a new temporary email address is created for you. Click Copy to put it on your clipboard. Want a different one? Click New address to generate another random address in one second.
2. Choose a custom name (optional)
Click Choose name, type the part before the @ (for example john.doe), pick a domain and click Create address. If the name is already taken, try another one: every address belongs to one person only.
3. Use the address to sign up
Paste the address into the email field of any website or app: sign-up forms, free trials, downloads, public Wi-Fi portals or newsletters.
If a website says the email is invalid, choose another domain or switch to Temporary Hotmail: each website blocks a different list of domains.
4. Read emails and copy verification codes
New emails appear in your Inbox within seconds, without reloading the page. Verification codes (OTP) are detected automatically: click the code to copy it, or open the email to read it in full and download attachments.
5. Save your recovery code
Right below your address you will find your recovery code. Copy it, download it as a .txt file, or copy the recovery link and bookmark it. Without this code, nobody can reopen the inbox once you close the page or switch devices.
Keep the code private: anyone who has it can read your emails.
6. Reopen your inbox later
In the same browser, click Your inboxes and pick the address. On another device, click Restore inbox and paste your recovery code, or open your recovery link. The address receives emails again for the next 24 hours. Emails older than 24 hours have already been deleted.
7. Get notified, then delete when you’re done
Click Enable notifications in the inbox to be alerted as soon as an email arrives, even in another tab. When you no longer need the address, click Delete: all emails are removed and the address stops receiving mail for good.

What is temp mail?
Temp mail (also called temporary email, disposable email, throwaway email, burner email or 10 minute mail) is an email address you use for a short time and then forget. There is no sign-up and no password, and every email is deleted automatically after a while. It is the simplest way to receive a verification code or an activation email without giving your real address to a website you don’t trust yet.
How does a temporary email address work?
When you open T-Mail, you instantly get an address on one of our domains. Every email sent to it is received by our mail server, checked and displayed in your browser, usually within seconds. Emails are stored for 24 hours and then deleted for good. The address can only receive emails, never send them, so it can’t be abused to spread spam.
Benefits of a disposable email address
- Keep your main inbox clean: newsletters and promotions go to the temporary address instead of your real email.
- Limit the damage of data leaks: if a website is breached, the leaked address is only a temp mail that isn’t linked to your important accounts.
- Faster than creating a new email account: no phone number, no verification, an address ready in one second.
- More privacy: we never ask for your name, phone number or any personal data.
Is temp mail safe?
Temp mail is safe for receiving one-time emails. Emails are displayed in an isolated frame on a separate domain, harmful scripts are blocked and unknown links show a warning before they open. Keep in mind that anyone with the recovery code can read the inbox and that emails are deleted after 24 hours, so don’t use a temporary email for important accounts or anything you may need to recover later.
Temp mail, fake email generator or email alias?
A fake email generator often only produces an address that looks valid but can’t receive anything. T-Mail gives you a real, working inbox that receives emails within seconds. An email alias, like the “+” feature of Gmail or Outlook, still delivers to your personal inbox, whereas temp mail keeps your real address completely out of the picture.
Tips for using temp mail
- Save your recovery code as soon as you create an address if you may need to read your emails again.
- Switch domains when a website says your email is invalid, because every website blocks a different list.
- Use Temporary Hotmail for websites that only accept addresses from big email providers.
- Turn on notifications to know right away when an email arrives, even in another tab.
FAQ
Temp mail: frequently asked questions
What is temp mail?
Temp mail (a temporary or disposable email) is an email address you can use instantly without signing up. Use it to receive verification codes, sign-up confirmations or downloads without giving out your real address. Emails are deleted automatically after a while.
Is T-Mail temp mail free?
Yes. T-Mail is completely free, requires no registration and never asks for personal information.
How long are emails kept?
Each email is kept for 24 hours, then permanently deleted. The address receives emails for 24 hours after you last opened the inbox, and renews automatically while the page is open.
Can I use the same temporary email address again later?
Yes. Save the recovery code shown under your address. Days later, click “Restore inbox” and paste the code, or open your recovery link: the address starts receiving emails again. Older emails will already have been deleted.
What happens if I lose my recovery code?
Nobody can reopen the inbox, not even us, and nobody else can create the same address. Copy or download the code as soon as you create an address.
Why am I not receiving emails?
Check that you copied the address correctly and wait a minute. Some websites block temporary email domains: choose another domain with “Choose name” or use Temporary Hotmail.
Can I send emails from a temp mail address?
No. The service is receive-only, so it can’t be abused to send spam or scams.
Should I use a disposable email for important accounts?
No. Don’t use a temporary email for banking, payment apps, your main social media or work accounts: anyone with the recovery code can read the inbox and emails are deleted, so you could lose access to password resets.
Need an email address right now?
Your address is ready. Copy it and use it immediately: no sign-up, no password.
